Thank you!

Re: UMDB and MBTN (split from Listerine)

Because I relish a challenge, I've been playing around a little with a responsive menu for the UMDB. Please access this link on your smart phone or mobile device and let me know how it looks. Hopefully you'll see something like the image on the right, below, and not the image on the left. http://ult...

Re: 2017 Tabloid Cover Derby Round 4.0.1 (SEMIFINAL)

This poll has two fewer votes than the other poll that was launched on the same day. Giving it a bump just in case someone overlooked it.

Re: 2017 Tabloid Cover Derby Round 4.0.2 (SEMIFINAL)

I also voted for the Newsday cover for its nice clean layout. The Post cover is too cluttered, as they often are.

Re: First Base and the Opening Day Roster

I don't think it will be "both", and the only likely way for it to be "neither" is if there's an injury, so the choices come down to "Adrian not Dominic" or "Dominic not Adrian" I voted "Adrian not Dominic" but I could just have easily gone the oppos...

Re: 2017 Tabloid Cover Derby Round 3.4.1

I agree. I'm committed to voting for GOD OF BLUNDER for as long as it's in this competition. The people who staged the introductory press conference this year selected GOD OF BLUNDER as one of the three representative covers (one from each publication) for the 2017 season: http://ultimatemets.com/co...

Re: Duda redo?

I don't know how you fit Duda and Bruce on the same team, unless the plan is to have Dom Smith spend the year at AAA. And if Duda gets a multi-year contract, I have to figure that they're trading Smith.

I don't see it happening.

And... for being featured on Final Four covers, Jose Reyes, Noah Syndergaard, Yoenis Cespedes, and Wilmer Flores will each receive a copy of the Tabloid Cover Derby home game!

Re: Things I Didn't Know About Baseball Until I Learned in 2

I knew it too. It used to get mentioned a lot on those old WOR broadcasts. I think it was a favorite "fun fact" of Ralph, Lindsey, and Bob.

Re: Tabloid Cover Derby 2017 (Downsized version)

We have completed our third round of voting, and, similar to last year, we have a Final Four consisting of two covers from the Daily News and one each from the New York Post and Newsday. In our three years of Tabloid Cover Derby, seven Daily News covers have reached the Final Four, as have three fro...

GOD OF BLUNDER has defeated FULL SPEED AHEAD and thus completes our Final Four for 2017. GOD OF BLUNDER has made history of sorts, as the first bad-news cover to ever advance this far.

Yeah, that's where I am. I'd rather have Jay Bruce than Nori Aoki, but not as much as JD Martinez.

I fear that before the three years are up, he'll go back to being the guy that they wish they could trade.

Re: 2017 Tabloid Cover Derby Round 3.3.1

This outcome really surprised me, but the people have spoken and IN THE BIG INNING has narrowly defeated MR. 300 and will advance, as the sole remaining New York Post cover, to the Final Four.

Re: Welcome Back Jay Bruce, The Trade Was Your Ticket Out

I guess it also means the end of either Lagares or Nimmo as a NYM. Probably Lagares as he's too expensive to keep around as a 4th OF I'm not so sure. Unless I'm forgetting someone, doesn't the signing of Bruce give them five outfielders: Cespedes, Conforto, Bruce, Lagares, Nimmo? I can't think of w...
