"Lenny And His Debts"

Hey Dude, pool it all together
The tickers tickin' something
And ya know that Len's the bettor
We'll fly the Players Club tonight
So stick around
You're gonna make a fortune and more
When it leaves the ground

Oh, credit and money have you bilked them yet
Oh you look so spaced out, Le-le-len Lenny and his debts
But things got weird and un-wonderful
Oh Lenny he's been never clean
He's got Armani suits, a car wash too
You know I read in on the wikizine
Ohh ohhhh, Le-le-le Lenny and his debts

Hey Len, you have been so clueless
Maybe 'roid blinded
But Lenny's raps are endless
He didn’t survive, but tried to string things along
Where he fought the fed and cops in the streets
To find who's fake and who's wrong

Oh, credit and money have you bilked them yet
Oh you look so spaced out, Le-le-len Lenny and his debts
But things got weird and un-wonderful
Oh Lenny he's been never clean
He's got Armani suits, a car wash too
You know I read in on the wikizine
Ohh ohhhh, Le-le-le Lenny and his debts

(Rinse and repeat a lot)

"Mets On The Cable" (Fred Wilpon)
To the tune of "Cats in the Cradle"

My child arrived just the other day
Came into the world in the usual way
But there's buildings to buy and bills to pay
I loved my team, but they went away
But Jeffy talked 'fore I knew it, and as he grew
He'd say "I'm gonna be like you, Dad
I know I'm gonna be like you."

And the Mets are on TV and the game's at noon
Wearin' the blue but the black'll come soon
Go bring Seaver home, Dad
I don't know when, but we'll get together then
You know we'll have a good time then

My son turned ten just the other day
He said, "Thanks for the team, Dad, but they can't play
Can you teach 'em to throw?" I said "Well, someday,
I got a lot to do." He said "that's okay."
And he walked away but smile never dimmed
And said, "I'm gonna be like him, yeah
I know I'm gonna be like him."

And the Mets are on cable and the game's at noon
Wearin' the blue but the black'll come soon
Won the World Series, Dad
I don't know when, but we'll do it all again
You know we'll have a good time then

We borrowed some money just the other day
So much from a man so we could pay for Bay
"Fred, I'm proud of you, won't take you for a ride"
He shook my hand and said with a smile
"What I'd really like, Fred, is to borrow more bucks please
Need it now 'fore my as-sets get seized."

But the Mets are on cable and the game's at noon
Wearin' the blue but the black'll come soon
Will they buy the black, Dad?
You know they will, we'll make the money then, Dad
You know we'll have a good time then

I'm never gon' retire, never gon' go away
Called Jay-Z up the other day
Said, "I'd like to see you if you don't mind"
He said, "I'd love to, Fred, if I can find the time
You see Robbie wants the money and I do too
And it's sure nice talking to you, Fred
But I won't get much money from you."

And as I hung up the phone it occurred to me
Don't care what they think of me
Oh boy, they don't like me

But the Mets are on cable and the game's at noon
The TV station's mine, Willets Point will come soon
Built myself a park and
I don't care when, but I'll live forever there, man
I know I'll have a good time there

That's the better fo the two "Catses," for my money, but I went with the Debts.
I'll be your patron saint of heartbreak.

Both great. I also opted for Lenny.

I'm glad I'm not in the contest this year - I'd get slaughtered!
In running, it doesn't matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say, "I have finished." There is a lot of satisfaction in that - Fred Lebow

"Cats" is just too attractive/familiar/appropriate not to set a Mets-related father-son parody to. Harry Chapin called his songs "stories."
Let me tell you something: I have a big set of balls.
