I've made today's random spin of the Wheel of Fate, and Nymr83 was selected from the first list, and Dave LaRoche from the second list.

I'll spin the Wheel again next Tuesday!

(If Namor is dissatisfied with his random assignment he can request a change at any time.)

well you have (finally) succeeded in waking me up to this!

is Bob Murphy taken? I'll take him if he isn't.

One of the items on my to do list for the weekend is to think of a custom designation that somehow represents my Mets fandom, rather than be assigned one of the random designations.

I am assuming that I can request to be any individual from Mets history, so long as they have not been claimed by another member.

Well, there's a one-in-three chance that you'll be randomly assigned to Howie Rose, Kevin Long, or Jeff Torborg this Tuesday unless you make a selection before then!

And yes, you can pick anyone from Mets history. The original rule was that it had to be a non-player, but that rule has been overlooked in the past and can be again if you like.

After thinking long and hard about this, I would like to be Willie Mays to be my custom designation. Even though he didn't play for the Mets until the twilight of his career, "The Say Hey Kid" was always my favorite player as a kid growing up.

Rockin' Doc now, as requested, has the rank of "Willie Mays."

As a result of his selection, Kevin Long has been randomly removed from the list of potential randomly assigned rankings.

Today's spin of the wheel has resulted in Frayed Knot being assigned the special rank of "Jeff Torborg."

If Frayed Knot is dissatisfied with this selection, he may choose another ranking.

Our list has now been reduced to the bare minimum. If soupcan does not choose a special ranking by next Tuesday, he will be assigned to Howie Rose.

I was wondering why I was Luis Aguaylo!

I am just discovering this thread today. I'd like to be Sidd Finch, please. Or, alternately, I'd be "the white chick Cleon Jones banged in a van in 1975," unless that's offensive to some folks.

Can it read "Sidd Finch, P, 1985, 168 MPH" as the tagline please and thank you?

Shoeless Sidd Finch, P, 1985, 168 MPH

Did I loan someone here that book sometime back and not remember? It's
mysteriously missing from my Mets' bookshelf.

The Jones thing gets an entry on Cleon's wikipage. I thought there was cocaine
involved but it says the young lady had some weed but charges were dropped.
Cleon is still married to his high school sweetheart after more than 50 years.

Fman99 now, as requested, has the rank of "Sidd Finch".

Our last remaining holdout, soupcan, has been assigned to the last remaining random rank of "Howie Rose."

The Random Custom Designation Project is now concluded.

Oh, and regarding Cleon Jones' scandal: I Think It's Don Grant Now

Actually, the traditional number of posts before you're eligible for the custom designation is 11,000. (You stay at the Tom Seaver level for 1,000 posts.)

So hang in there and keep posting!

Not sure how it's possible I'm not at 11k posts. I've been posting forever.

I filed an appeal with the Home Office in Stockholm but have yet to hear anything from them. Tried calling the hotline but got suspicious when they started asking for my PIN and SSN.
