Incomplete Guide to Who's Who on the CPF

I can't remember who first applied the "Mr. Sparkle" nickname to Shinjo, but it has been synonomous with his name ever since.

Does anyone have a photo of the Mr. Sparkle banner from the 2001 season?

Im new.
I had come across ht e CPF when I was scouring the web for images for that baseball card set.
I looked around but moved on.
As time went on I found myself visiting places like the UMDB more and more. Mets By The Numbers,as well. Then I came across the CPF again and decided to join up.

Alot of it had to do with the fact I liked the direction the Mets have been going in and wanted to talk with other fans about them.
I think what made me decide to enjoy more time here was the game threads. It was really neat to interact with others watching the game while it was going on.
Ill never forget my 1st KABOOM!

lol.

BTW- I am and have been Zvon on-line since I began my internet adventures years ago, and its the only name I go by through out the world wide web.
(or a variation of it)

I ask for a photo of the Mr. Sparkle banner and in less than 30 minutes KC posts not one, but three photos of it. Now that's service.

This also may be good for permanent links or somewhere it doesn't have to be bumped all the time.

I just find it funny that most of the last 10 people to register (including several in the last few days) have never posted at all.
Every great cause begins as a movement, becomes a business, and eventually degenerates into a racket.

Another interesting thing is that a number of the new id's have web-site
links that advertise stuff. I wonder if some moran or a group of morans
or some mechanized morans sign up for boards thinking they can sell
shit by doing so.

Does that work?

I can't imagine anyone here buying anything just because some newbie advertises it.

I deleted a bunch of newly signed up posters who had misleading links
to a site advertising ring-tones. My guess is they won't be complaining -
but we'll see.

Nah, probably the equivalent of spammers on ezboard.

I have noticed (happily) that our invasion of "guests" seems to have abated. I don't even like to log on when that happens, they make me think of pod people and I feel like I'm going to be taken over by one of them.

I mean, 104 logged on on a Saturday night?

ashtray is a friend of mine. She complained she couldn't read parts of the board
because of all the html goo and I told her to register and sign on to see what
the board really looks like. She'll probably post a little when the season starts.

It's pretty odd that the HTML comes out as code if you're not logged in. It obscures the store from window shopping.

There's a couple of illogical things about this software - that's a huge one.

On the other hand, if you use the codes provided, you can see them fine when not logged on. Is that what happens, some people don't use them? I've always wondered

I hadn't updated this for quite some time. cooby asked about Patrick McGowan in another thread today. As Frayed Knot mentioned, he has been MIA since just before the move from EZBoard. Nymr83 mentioned this long lost thread, so I decided to update it.

I added a new section to highlight our newest members that have joined us since moving here. We have been fortunate that our community of fans has continued to grow. I hope that I did not overlook anyone, but if I did, I sincerely apologize for the oversight.

As always, if there are any errors or corrections that need to be made, please either point them out to me in a post or PM me with the information and I will update the list on page one of the thread.
